About Mihir Kamat

Hi, I’m Mihir Kamat. I’m a writer, poet, and storyteller who loves weaving words into stories that connect with people. My journey with writing began in 2005 when I came across a friend’s blog. I was fascinated by the idea of sharing my thoughts with others and discovering the joy of being read by strangers. Over time, I started exploring poetry and songwriting, adding new dimensions to my love for words.

My first book, At First Sight, grew from a collection of short stories I’d written over the years—stories that mean a lot to me. In 2013, I decided to turn those stories into a book and self-published it as a trial to understand how this works. It wasn’t an easy path, but the support of readers who gave it glowing reviews made it all worthwhile. The book sold over a hundred copies in its first two months, and that small but meaningful success still makes me proud.

When I’m not writing, you’ll often find me lost in a good mystery or thriller novel or trying out new recipes in the kitchen over the weekend. I’ve read more than a hundred books, and I still can’t resist the pull of a great story.

I live in Mumbai, India, with my wife Priyanka and my daughter Teera, who inspires me with her courage and reminds me every day why stories—both the ones we tell and the ones we live—are so important.
