  • The last kiss

    There are moments, I’ve wished
That would never end, and once they do,
    That they’d never begun.
Soul searching, yet out of reach
    Falling out of comfortable arms
    From cushioned relief
    Into raging nightmares
    Where the beast is awake
Ready to feast on mellow creatures
    The mind wanders, endlessly, carelessly,
    Aimlessly, pointlessly, wordlessly
    Staring into space
    Going back in time
    To that, last kiss
The one that was supposed to make it right.

  • Life and death

I’m here again in the company of
Wizened flowers, that form a deathly mosaic
Beautiful once, now a mere arrangement
Of wilted roses and shriveled lilacs

You chose to go to that better place
And left me here to my loneliness
Now I try clutch on to cherished memories
As I hold these in my hands again

I feel the hurt rise in my heart
The light, it dwindles slightly so
Maybe, just maybe, we still have hope
Or is it too late, I fear?

I feel my lips say no
But my cheeks, they reveal all my cards
    Crimson, flushing oh so rosy
Reminiscing your touch on my skin

How do I turn back time?
I have words left unspoken, yet only seen
Through the mist of my breath
    That fogs the window panes

But the haze lifts, the crystal clears
And these flowers lay lifeless in my arms
Maybe, I could revive their life
Through the gift of my tears.

  • Never let go

Fallen angels seldom walk the streets
Not every day do knights stay at their feet?
Until yesterday, I didn’t know your name
But today’s the day where nothing feels the same

Angel, where have you been all my life
Seeing your face makes me walk in paradise
So much prettier than the summer rose
All I want now is to hold you close

    And never let go.
    Never let go…

The sun is shining, as it never did before
Brighter days and I right here want so much more
Couldn’t stay away from your charming, careless gaze
I’m walking into sleepless nights through endless days

Angel, where have you been all my life
Seeing your face makes me walk in paradise
So much prettier than the summer rose
All I want now is to hold you close

    And never let go.
    Never let go…

Never let go oh oh oh
    Never let go.

  • Diamonds

    Diamonds

    A golden circle;
    Studded brilliance holds
    Tiny, lone crystals

    Your melted heart speaks
    As light shimmers through many
    Broken window panes;

    Those glowing rocks just
    Scatter radiance beyond me
    Why those tears?

    Our breaths unite
    As the distance closes down
    To nothingness now

    And all I can see
    Your eyes speak like diamonds;
    Love is in the air.

  • Stay

    Stay

You whisper in my ears so softly
And point towards my worthy foe
A rustic clock hung on the far wall
Telling me it’s time to go

I sit up straight and keenly watch
Your brilliant eyes look back at me
So innocent and full of charm
Your hand fits mine so perfectly

My skin warms up to your icy breath
As you tease me with your silken lips
And lay a wet one back on mine
While you brush my hair with your fingertips

The connection breaks; I open my eyes
To look back deep into yours
As I feel the bittersweet aftertaste of honey
So much, I can’t have enough of it

Some moments pass in quiet wonder
Of how beautiful you are to me
I sense a bout of mild trepidation
    Taking over temporarily

As our fingers separate oh so slowly
I see you turn and walk away
And even though you have to go
My heart only wants you to stay.

  • Let’s light up that smile!

    Let’s light up that smile!

In the spirit of the festival of lights, here’s a happy song to keep the cheer going. Happy Diwali everyone!

Let’s open up our eyes to see
    Hum along a melody
And light up, that face of yours

Let’s grab a friend and share a beat
With open arms and meaty treats
    And brighten, your day because

Life’s much more than simply watching days go by
Spreading joys and making everything worth while

So let’s light up, that smile.
    Lets light up, your smile.

    Hanging clouds won’t disappear
Let’s stand up and go face our fears
    Enliven, the atmosphere

Keep your fingers right in tow
And let go of your worries now
    No fighting, today come on!

Life’s much more than simply watching days go by
Spreading joys and making everything worth while

So let’s light up, that smile.
    Let’s light up, your smile.

    Let’s light up… That smile.

  • Lost words

    Lost words

I wrote of love all this time
Never knowing what it stood for
Or what it meant to someone else

    Those words were flowery
    Buttery, slippery
    Rising with every tender breath
And falling as the sun goes down

    I wrote of beauty, magnanimity
Of holding hands and second chances
And eyes that did most of the talking
    Intoxicated from a simple glance;
    Inebriated without touching a bottle

    Yet today I search for lost words;
    The silence screams at me
As the paper talks; implores me once more
To paint a fresco comprising myriad colors

But all I see is a blank canvas
    Staring back at me, while
I think of love and the days gone by
    Just left behind
    To my poetic misery.

  • Wrinkles

    Wrinkles

Her quiet eyes still look on
    Validation all they seek
    Autumn’s gone; tomorrow beholds
    More frigid, morose, wintry days

Those wizened hands are outstretched wide
Revealing tales of days gone by
    Pausing; waiting for a moment
    Craving blissful sanctity

Her face is crinkled; yet so elegant
And may be fifty years ago
A single wrinkle flashed her face
    Smile adept at melting stone

But now the wrinkles pile on up
    Adorn her aging, graceful visage
Each facial line an honest reminder
    That outer beauty is always short-lived;

Her eyes, though, tell a different story
    Speak volumes of inner allure
And wrinkles add to the shrouded charm
So wondrous, pleasing to the eyes.

  • Tango

    Tango

The music plays on in the background
So gentle and serene, yet captivating
Both feet already catching the bug
    Sway to the tune
Like a snake charmed by a haunting cadence.

Playful eyes tiptoe into the moonlight
    Trying to catch another set
    And arrest their attention.
The gaze wanders across the room
    And rests until it finds
    Another set of feet moving,
    Dilly dallying alongside the beat.

The eyes like what they see,
    Inspecting their owner.

    Our gazes collide, delicately
As you shy away, but there’s no going back
For us both feel the connection
That the rhythm imposes on us

We try to pull out all the stops
And give in to this urge,
As we hold each others hand
A sea of humanity watches in delight
While our bodies sway to musical finality.

    After all,
    It takes two to tango.

  • Perfect place

    Perfect place

    tumblr_mj5aa5Lj641s6jup2o1_500
I think I know what it means
To lose my world within your eyes
No place to go and tuck away
A deep blue like the velvet skies

A moment ago; they were closed shut
    Dreaming away in peaceful bliss
And playfully pouting your silken lips
    Blowing forth an invisible kiss

You gently roll into my arms
    A childish cuddle is exposed
I smell your lovely, fragrant skin
The scent playing with my humble nose

I watched you sleep; now I watch you wake
It’s the best part of my day
Your tender love; your gentle touch
Mean more to me than those three words can say

You hold my hand, and pat my face
Lay a soft kiss upon my cheek
So much is said without a word
No need for either one to speak

And as we lay here in each others arms
In a gentle, sweet and close embrace
I know for certain that we are in
This perfect world; my perfect place.
